Every year around the beginning of January one of my favorite trade shows happens–CES. This trade show is the home to introducing all kinds of new and prototyped technology to the world and is known by Forbes as foretelling some of the most seismic shifts in the recent history of technology. So…it’s kind of a big deal.
As this conference comes and goes, the obvious parts I pay attention to are new smart home and apartment technology. Here are just a few I am most excited about:

PerfectFill is a smart bathing experience where users can fill, adjust and drain a bathtub to specific settings from an app. While smart fill bathtubs have existed, the introduction of a combo fill and drain is new.

Timberline Solar offers solar powered roof shingles that can be installed just like regular roof shingles with a nail gun.

Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt
Schlage has introduced a door lock that supports Apple Home Kit and other voice powered command assistants like Siri, Alexa or Google Assistant. Apple iPhone and Apple Watch users can even unlock the deadbolt without unlocking their device.
