Introduce yourself. What is your role at Quext?
I lead the Quext Connect service team providing scalable, high-capacity WiFi for multi-family residential communities.
What is your work background?
I’m a techie with over 25 years of telecom experience but my career began as a fighter pilot and I still use checklists to prevent avoidable failures. Just prior to joining Quext I was working for one of the largest cable companies in the US to design and operate their video delivery architecture from source to set top box.
What do you see in the future for Quext Connect?
Quext Connect is going to be busy! Just as every multi-family resident needs water and electric service, WiFi is now an essential utility. There are more than 20 million apartment units in the US. If Quext Connect brings WiFi to just 2-5% of those, that’s 400,000 to 1 million units.
What are you excited about specifically for technology changing in the multi-family industry?
Many multi-family residents don’t have WiFi service and may not be able to get it on their own. When a community is equipped with robust and reliable WiFi, that technology makes lives better. Virtual classrooms, virtual doctor visits, and virtual business meetings blossomed during this year’s pandemic. So did virtual birthday parties, holiday celebrations, and graduations. With a limitless supply of music, gaming, and other entertainment options, residents are Quext connected from the moment they move-in without the inconvenience of scheduling an installation and paying another bill.
What is your favorite thing about working at Quext?
The people. They are passionate, courageous, and really really smart!
What is the last thing you binged on Netflix?
